Pros:The first 2 to 3 books are beautiful.The characters like Zed are fresh and amazing making it worth reading just to see them progress. The protagonist are likable enough to cheer for.The world is created beautifully with very few apparent loopholes in the basic structure.
It is almost impossible to stop reading after you start.The language is nice clean and engaging.Cons:The love story between Richard and Kahlan is predictable. Richard ad Kahlan are in love and Zed has a huge appetite, yup we get it.Almost every female character either gets beaten up or raped.We never ever see Richard in his best magical potential as he is always crippled somehow or the other( And does anyone ever sleep in this series?)There is an entire book dedicated only and only to tell you about the past of the various characters which is not very deep to begin with.Oh and all the books have gripping endings except the last one because at that point Terry has no more books continuation of the story left. Smart Terry, very smart.P.S.In addition, if I wanted preaching this bad I would have been reading Aesop's Fables.Conclusion: This is the classic example of an author stretching a series of good few books into a humongous boring series for money.Being the fantasy addict I am this was a huge disappointment.
