Well, for starters Ludovic probably has a pretty good stat lead on Ryoma. Ryoma is at what right now, maybe 25 if we're generous? Ludovic probably closer to 30 (on a side note, if that is indeed the case, I wonder how much Duke actually improved over the past two years - he's at 27 now.Beyond that, if Ryoma vs Ludovic gets shuffled to S1, I fully expect Ludovic to get the heart aura during the match too.

I'm sure he has the potential for it. If it's S3, maybe he'll play most of the match with something similar to Muga and get the heart aura in the final stages of the matches to foreshadow Camus - think Akaya vs Fuji with Akaya copying Sanada's moves. I disagree with Ryoma having a total stat of 25 right now, I think he's higher than that at this point (being equal to Tanegashima, around 28-29 tbh). I think Ryoma's current stats are: 5, 4, 5, 7, 7 (4 for power, 5 for both stamina and speed, and a 7 in both technique and mental).
So, like Ludovic is close to 30, Ryoma should be too. Stamina should have gone up to 5, mostly because going back where he fought all of the american prospects, there's no way his stamina his higher than when he was in the camp. Mental a 7 because of Samurai and Technique because, aside from GS and that he learned to implement the glowing part to increase the special properties of his techniques, I'm sure that he's gotten something else while he was in the American team.Ludovic getting the heart aura would be a nice foreshadowing for Camus.
New Prince of Tennis summary: The purported advertisement from the Jump Square issue says that everything in The Prince of Tennis up to now has been 'prologue' and that 'a new legend for the main character Ryoma and the others will begin.' This continues what happened in the 'Prince of Tennis ', after the end of the tournament. The New Prince of Tennis OVA vs. Genius 10 anime info and recommendations. If he uses something similar to Muga, it won't bother Ryoma at this point, so I expect him to smack back whatever Ludovic uses. If he gets the heart aura, Ryoma will step up his game and, like we all know already, have a crazy mid-match evolution that gives him the edge in the end. Isn't Ryoma's case different?
Shiraishi's growth rate is slower, and with Ryoma having evolved so quickly and getting big powerups, there's no way his current stats are still at 21. Shiraishi might have been stucked to 4's because he didn't found his new style yet and, didn't know how to go further beyond his previous level. As soon Tanegashima guided him, his stats jumped to a 'virtual' 35, and raising one stat to 7 by focusing on it is pretty crazy. There's also the fact that he trained with the American team daily before returning to Japan, and I'm sure that while being there, he should have improved more, becoming stronger than he was before (also pointed out by Kintarou). That's why I have him stronger than 25 currently, he and Shiraishi are completely different in terms of potential and growth rate. By now, the stat gap before Ryoma at 21 and his current level should be considerable. If not, why do you think Ludovic stats will be around 30, just being a 1st year MS? More like a virtual 23 with variable distribution - that's the key factor that makes it so strong.
If he could just boost one stat to 7 it probably wouldn't have given France much trouble. There's a difference between base stats and boosted stats too. None of Shiraishi's base stats improved through the Star Bible, he's just able to boost in all different directions. Like if we're talking boosted stats, Gin probably has something like 20 power when he hits his strongest Hadokyuu.Likewise, Ryoma getting a number of crazy good moves doesn't necessarily mean his base stats have skyrocketed. For instance, Tezuka and Kintarou both got TnK, yet their base stats were 23.5 and 22 respectively. Tezuka's power was only 4, not taking Hyakuren into account.

Same for GS - while we don't know Byoudouin's exact power, the description differentiates between his regular power and his power when hitting the glowing shot. Shiraishi always has even stats so he is either a 22.5 or a 25. Honestly with how he is performing he should be a 25.Ryoma doesn't have high base stats to begin with he was only a 21 when camp started while Shiraishi was a 20 and Tezuka was a 23.5. What makes Ryoma deadly is his rate of evolution mid battle and honestly 'asspulls'.Also seems like jp players generally have lower end stats.
